Ingredients

Hibiscus Iced Tea

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 Hibiscus tea bags (or 2 tsp of loose hibiscus tea)
  • 1-2 TBSP Honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes

Ham and Swiss

  • 4 slices Whole wheat bread
  • 2 TBSP Mayonnaise
  • 4 leaves Romaine lettuce
  • 4 slices Tomato
  • 6 oz Deli ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 oz Pita chips
  • 1/4 cup Hummus

Instructions

  • Bring the water to a simmer. Then remove from the heat. Steep the tea in the water for 10 minutes. Then refrigerate to cool.
  • Prepare the ingredients as instructed above.
  • Optional: Toast the bread.
  • Spread mayo on each slice of bread. Layer with lettuce, tomato, ham, and cheese. Top with remaining slice of bread. Cut in half.
  • Pour the chilled hibiscus tea over the ice.
  • Serve the sandwich with pita chips and hummus and hibiscus iced tea.
