Turkey Patty Melt

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Ground turkey
  • 1/2 tbsp Chicken Seasoning rub
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 slices Sourdough bread or bread of your choice
  • 2 slices Gruyere cheese halved
  • 1 cup Sauerkraut
  • 2 Pickle spears
  • 2 oz Potato chips

Sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp Ketchup or more if desired
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Relish

Instructions

  • Preheat a panini style grill.
  • In a bowl mix all the ingredients for the sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Mix together the ground turkey, seasoning rub, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper, and form into oblong patties to fit the shape of the bread.
  • Heat a grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the oil. Cook the patties on both sides to an internal temperature of 160 degrees using a thermometer. Then remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Spread the sauce on all slices of bread. Then layer with cheese, turkey patty, sauerkraut, and the other slice of bread on top.
  • Cook on the panini grill until golden brown while melting the cheese.
    (Alternatively use a nonstick pan on medium low heat and cover with a lid).
  • Cut in half and serve with pickles and chips.
