Ingredients
- 2 loaves Bread Any bread of your choice
- 1 lb Ground sausage
Mirepoix
- 3 stalks Celery
- 2 each Carrots
- 1 each Yellow Onion
Seasoning
- 2 Tbsp Ground thyme
- 1 Tbsp Ground fennel seed
- 16 oz Chicken broth
- Salt & Pepper
Instructions
- Dice bread, lay out on baking sheet and toast in the oven on low till semi crouton consistency
- Dice Mirepoix (celery, carrot, onion)
*use scraps for Turkey - On medium heat, use a saute pan to start browning ground sausage
- Add in diced mirepoix to sausage and saute together for another 3 to 5 minutes
- Once sausage is mostly browned pull pan off heat
- In a baking dish mix sausage & mirepoix, diced bread croutons, ground thyme & fennel, chicken broth, and salt & pepper
- Place in oven on top rack at 350° for 50 minutes
- Take out of oven cover with foil and let set up for 10 - 15 minutes before serving
