Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves Bread Any bread of your choice
  • 1 lb Ground sausage

Mirepoix

  • 3 stalks Celery
  • 2 each Carrots
  • 1 each Yellow Onion

Seasoning

  • 2 Tbsp Ground thyme
  • 1 Tbsp Ground fennel seed
  • 16 oz Chicken broth
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  • Dice bread, lay out on baking sheet and toast in the oven on low till semi crouton consistency
  • Dice Mirepoix (celery, carrot, onion)
    *use scraps for Turkey
  • On medium heat, use a saute pan to start browning ground sausage
  • Add in diced mirepoix to sausage and saute together for another 3 to 5 minutes
  • Once sausage is mostly browned pull pan off heat
  • In a baking dish mix sausage & mirepoix, diced bread croutons, ground thyme & fennel, chicken broth, and salt & pepper
  • Place in oven on top rack at 350° for 50 minutes
  • Take out of oven cover with foil and let set up for 10 - 15 minutes before serving
