Ingredients
- 1 Egg beaten
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 TBSP Brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 4 TBSP Maple syrup or more if desired
- 8 sticks Texas toast substitute any thick cut bread of your choice. Cut into about 3 inch long by 1 inch wide sticks, about 4 to 5 per serving
- 2 TBSP Butter as needed
- 2 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 cup Raspberries
- 16 oz Milk cold
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, beat the egg with a whisk or fork. Then add in the milk, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, and beat again.
- Set a small saucepan over low heat and pour in the syrup to warm.
- Set a non-stick pan or griddle over medium-low heat. While the pan heats, prep the French toast sticks.
- Dip the bread in the egg mixture turning to coat all sides evenly until the sticks are moistened but not soggy.
- Lightly grease the non-stick pan or griddle with butter and oil as needed. Cook the coated bread until golden brown on all sides.
- To serve: Enjoy the French toast with warm syrup, raspberries and a glass of milk.
