French Toast Sticks

- 1 Egg beaten
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 TBSP Brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 4 TBSP Maple syrup or more if desired
- 8 sticks Texas toast substitute any thick cut bread of your choice. Cut into about 3 inch long by 1 inch wide sticks, about 4 to 5 per serving
- 2 TBSP Butter as needed
- 2 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 cup Raspberries
- 16 oz Milk cold
In a shallow bowl, beat the egg with a whisk or fork. Then add in the milk, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, and beat again.
Set a small saucepan over low heat and pour in the syrup to warm.
Set a non-stick pan or griddle over medium-low heat. While the pan heats, prep the French toast sticks.
Dip the bread in the egg mixture turning to coat all sides evenly until the sticks are moistened but not soggy.
Lightly grease the non-stick pan or griddle with butter and oil as needed. Cook the coated bread until golden brown on all sides.
To serve: Enjoy the French toast with warm syrup, raspberries and a glass of milk.
