Ingredients

French Dip

  • 10 oz Shaved steak
  • 1/4 tsp Salt plus more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper plus more to taste
  • 1 TBSP Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup Onion sliced thin
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1/4 tsp Fresh rosemary
  • 2 TBSP Butter
  • 2 Long rolls lightly toasted
  • 2 oz Potato chips
  • 2 Pickle spears

Homemade Lemonade

  • 1 cup Lemon juice Fresh squeezed
  • 16 oz Water
  • 2 TBSP Sugar use to taste
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Prep the ingredients per the instructions above.
  • Season the beef with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the oil in a pot on medium heat. Saute the onions until softened and starting to brown. Then stir in the broth, beef, and rosemary. Bring to a low simmer until the flavor concentrates, about 15 to 20 minutes. Then add in the butter. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat the oven broiler on low. Slice open the rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Toast the bread under the broiler until golden brown (keep a close eye on the bread so that it doesn't burn).
  • Using tongs or a slotted spoon, place the beef on the roll.
  • Mix together the ingredients for the homemade lemonade.
  • Serve the sandwich with a side of au jus for dipping. Enjoy with chips, pickles, and lemonade.
