Ingredients

  • 8 oz Ground beef
  • 1/2 tbsp Steak seasoning Montreal steak seasoning or equivalent brand
  • 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 slices Monterey jack cheese (or your choice of cheese)
  • 2 slices Red onion sliced thin
  • 2 Hamburger buns lightly toasted
  • 2 Pickle spears
  • Ketchup (optional) or your choice of condiment

Instructions

  • Mix together the ground beef, steak seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into even patties.
  • Once hot, grill or cook burgers on both sides getting a nice crusty char to desired doneness (see below) using a thermometer. When the burger is 3/4 of the way cooked to your liking, add the cheese and melt.
  • Lightly toast the buns.
  • Top the burger with onion. Serve with pickle and ketchup or your choice of condiments.

Notes

Steak Internal Temperatures:
  • Rare: 115 - 120 degrees F
  • Medium Rare: 125 - 130 degrees F
  • Medium: 135 - 140 degrees F
  • Medium Well: 145 - 150 degrees F
  • Well Done: 160 degrees F
