Ingredients

  • 12 slices Bacon
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Steak seasoning Montreal steak seasoning or comparable brand
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz American cheese or your choice of cheese
  • 4 tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 4 Hamburger buns toasted
  • 8 leaves Romaine lettuce shredded
  • 8 slices Tomato
  • 4 Pickles halved

Instructions

  • Preheat grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  • In a large non-stick pan or skillet, cook the bacon on both sides until crisp.
  • Mix together the ground beef, steak seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce, season generously with salt and pepper. Divide and form meat into equal patties. (Pro tip: If you want to make a double burger, divide and form the meat into 2 equal patties per portion)
  • Grill burgers to desired doneness (see below) using a thermometer. When the burger is 3/4 of the way cooked to your liking, add the cheese to the top to melt.
  • Mix together the ketchup, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a bowl.
  • Toast the buns on the grill or in a 350°F oven until golden brown. Spread the ketchup-mayo mixture on the bun, then add the burger, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Serve with pickles.

Notes

Steak Internal Temperatures:
  • Rare: 115 - 120 degrees F
  • Medium Rare: 125 - 130 degrees F
  • Medium: 135 - 140 degrees F
  • Medium Well: 145 - 150 degrees F
  • Well Done: 160 degrees F
