Ingredients

Grinders

  • 8 oz Sweet Italian sausage
  • ¾ cup Green bell pepper sliced
  • ½ cup Yellow onion sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 7 oz Fire-roasted tomatoes diced
  • 7 oz Crushed tomatoes
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ tsp Red pepper flakes optional
  • tsp Salt
  • 2 Sub rolls split and toasted
  • ¾ cup Provolone cheese shredded
  • 2 oz Potato chips
  • 2 Pickle spears

Homemade Lemonade

  • 1/2 cup Lemon juice fresh squeezed
  • 16 oz Water
  • 2 TBSP Sugar use to taste
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • In a 12-inch skillet, cook the sausage, green pepper, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned; drain off fat.
  • Transfer the meat mixture to a slow cooker.
  • Stir in the fire-roasted diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, balsamic vinegar, crushed red pepper, and salt.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.
  • Optional: Toast the rolls in the oven.
  • Fill the toasted rolls with the meat mixture and top with shredded provolone cheese.
  • Mix all of the ingredients for the homemade lemonade. Serve over ice if desired.
  • Serve slow cooker Italian sausage grinders with chips, pickle, and lemonade.
