- 8 oz Sweet Italian sausage
- ¾ cup Green bell pepper sliced
- ½ cup Yellow onion sliced
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 7 oz Fire-roasted tomatoes diced
- 7 oz Crushed tomatoes
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp Balsamic vinegar
- ¼ tsp Red pepper flakes optional
- ⅛ tsp Salt
- 2 Sub rolls split and toasted
- ¾ cup Provolone cheese shredded
- 2 oz Potato chips
- 2 Pickle spears
Homemade Lemonade
- 1/2 cup Lemon juice fresh squeezed
- 16 oz Water
- 2 TBSP Sugar use to taste
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a 12-inch skillet, cook the sausage, green pepper, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned; drain off fat.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a slow cooker.
- Stir in the fire-roasted diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, balsamic vinegar, crushed red pepper, and salt.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.
- Optional: Toast the rolls in the oven.
- Fill the toasted rolls with the meat mixture and top with shredded provolone cheese.
- Mix all of the ingredients for the homemade lemonade. Serve over ice if desired.
- Serve slow cooker Italian sausage grinders with chips, pickle, and lemonade.
