Preheat a waffle maker and lightly coat with nonstick spray.
For the waffles: Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl. Stir in the milk a little at a time until a smooth batter forms (not too thin or watery, and not too thick or clumpy). Using about 1/2 cup per portion, ladle the batter in the waffle maker and cook according to the directions. Once golden brown and cooked remove from the waffle maker.
Drizzle the maple syrup over top. Serve with banana.
