Rustica Flatbread

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic pressed
  • 4 Pita bread
  • 12 leaves Fresh basil chopped
  • 1 Tomato diced
  • 12 oz Salami chopped
  • 9 oz Fresh mozzarella small balls or larger balls cut into chunks

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix together olive oil and pressed garlic. Brush the pita with oil & garlic mixture. Place the pita in the oven on a baking sheet for 3 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and place basil, tomatoes, salami, and cheese on top of the pita. Place back underneath the broiler until the cheese is melted, about 3 - 5 minutes. Watch it closely, if it starts getting too dark remove it from the oven immediately.
  • Cut into quarters and serve.
