Ingredients

Greek Gyros

  • 8 oz Ground beef or lamb
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • ½ tsp Ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 Pita bread
  • 1 cup Tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup Cucumbers diced
  • ½ cup Red onion sliced
  • ½ cup Feta cheese crumbled
  • ½ cup Tzatziki sauce

Pita Chips and Hummus

  • 4 oz Pita chips
  • 1 cup Hummus

Coconut water

  • 24 oz Coconut water cold

Instructions

  • Prep Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the beef, minced garlic, dried oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven broiler on low.
  • Place the meat mixture onto a foil lined baking sheet and flatten evenly to about ½ inch thick.
  • Broil until cooked thru to an internal temperature of 155F (70C). Then set aside for 3 minutes before slicing into strips.
  • Assemble Gyros: Warm the pita bread rounds. Lay out each pita and layer with cooked beef, diced tomatoes, diced cucumbers, sliced red onions, crumbled feta cheese, and a drizzle of tzatziki sauce.
  • Serve: Place the assembled gyros on plates, serve with pita chips and hummus, and pour glasses of cold coconut water. Enjoy your delicious meal!
