In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add cream of wheat cereal to the boiling water, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the cereal thickens to your desired consistency. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
Add a pinch of salt and sugar, if desired. Stir well.

Spread butter and your choice of jam or preserves on the hot toast slices.
Pour the cream of wheat into a bowl.
Pour orange juice into a glass.
