Ingredients
- Nonstick spray
- 12 oz Deli roast beef sliced thin
- 8 slices Sourdough bread
- 4 slices Provolone cheese
- 2 cups Baby spinach
- 1/2 cup Red onion sliced thin
- 2 oz Potato chips
- 4 Pickle spears
Au jus
- 1.5 cups Beef broth
- 1 tsp Fresh thyme chopped
- 1 tsp Kitchen Bouquet Browning and Seasoning Sauce or more if needed to taste
- 1 tsp Cornstarch dissolved in an equal amount of water
Instructions
- Preheat a panini style grill. Lightly grease with nonstick spray.
- Add the broth, thyme, and kitchen bouquet to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer. Add the cornstarch mixture a little at a time to lightly thicken the liquid (add more cornstarch if needed so the consistency is not too thin or watery but not as thick as a gravy). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Continue to simmer to build flavor.
- Dip the roast beef in the simmering liquid to coat. Layer the bread with cheese, spinach, onion, and beef.
- Cook the sandwich on the panini grill until golden brown on both sides and the cheese has melted.
- Cut the sandwich in half and serve with a side of au jus, chips, and pickles.
