Philly Cheesesteak

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Waffle Fries about 6 to 8 per portion
  • 1 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Green bell pepper diced or sliced
  • 1/2 cup Onion diced or sliced
  • 4 oz Shaved steak substitute thinly chopped tenderloin tips or thinly chopped tenderloin steak to take it up a level
  • 1/2 tbsp Steak seasoning montreal steak seasoning or comparable brand
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese halved
  • 2 Sub rolls split lengthwise and lightly toasted
  • 2 Pickle spears
  • 2 tbsp Yellow mustard or your choice of condiment

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Place the fries on a foil lined baking sheet and cook in the oven until crisp, refer to the directions on the package.
  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the oil. Sauté the green pepper and onion until soft. Add in the beef and steak seasoning; saute until nicely browned and no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper if needed to taste. Top with cheese and place in the oven to melt
  • Portion the steak mixture onto the rolls.
  • Cut in half and serve with pickles. Serve with mustard and/or ketchup for the fries.
