Ingredients

  • 1 pound Sirloin steaks leave whole or cut into small bite sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp Steak seasoning your favorite rub or seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 cups Mushrooms quartered
  • 2 tsp Fresh thyme plus more for garnish
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 4 Dinner rolls buttered if desired

Instructions

  • Season the steak well with steak seasoning. (If you cook the steak whole it will be easier to cook it to your desired temperature versus if you cut it into pieces before cooking)
  • Place the olive oil and garlic cloves in a non-stick pan over medium heat. When the pan starts to heat up and the garlic starts to sizzle add in the mushrooms and thyme. Saute for 1 to 2 minutes then push the mushrooms and garlic to the side of the pan.
  • Add the steak to the pan and get a very nice brown on all sides. Add the butter and finish cooking to your desired internal temperature using a thermometer then set on a cutting board to rest for 5 minutes before cutting into chunks (or serving if already cut into chunks). Once the mushrooms and garlic are golden brown and soft remove them from the pan.
  • Mix the steak and mushrooms, serve with garlic cloves and dinner rolls. Garnish with thyme.
