Hawaiian Beef Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Orange juice
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Fresh ginger peeled and minced
  • 1 pound Sirloin steaks cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 8 Wooden skewers
  • 2 cups Pineapple cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 Green bell pepper cut into 1 inch squares
  • 1/2 Red onion cut into 1 inch squares
  • 8 Mushrooms halved

Instructions

  • Preheat a grill on medium heat or the oven broiler on high.
  • Mix the orange juice, lime juice, garlic, and ginger in a bowl and add in the meat. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside. Soak the wooden skewers in water for 10 minutes.
  • Thread the steak, pineapple, bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms alternately onto the skewers.
  • Grill or broil the skewers, turning every 2 - 3 minutes until the vegetables are soft and everything has a nice char. Using a thermometer cook to your desire temperature of the meat (see below). Then serve.

Notes

Steak Internal Temperatures:
  • Rare: 115 - 120 degrees F
  • Medium Rare: 125 - 130 degrees F
  • Medium: 135 - 140 degrees F
  • Medium Well: 145 - 150 degrees F
  • Well Done: 160 degrees F
