Grilled Sausage Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage link
  • 1 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 Red onion sliced thin
  • 1 Green bell pepper sliced
  • 4 Brioche buns lightly toasted
  • 4 tbsp Yellow mustard or mustard of your choice
  • 4 Pickle spears

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill on medium heat.
  • Place the sausage on the grill. Get nice grill marks all around and cook to an internal temperature of 155 degrees using a thermometer. Then set aside to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
    (Alternatively cook the sausage on a foil lined baking sheet in a 400 degree oven)
  • Heat a nonstick pan on medium heat. Once hot, add the oil, onions, and peppers. Saute until golden brown and soft.
  • Place the sausage on the bun, top with onions, peppers, and mustard. Serve with pickle.
