Grilled Sausage Chimichurri

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Lime juice
  • 2 tbsp Reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 pound Italian Turkey Sausage substitute pork sausage if desired
  • 3 cloves Garlic peeled
  • 1 cup Fresh parsley whole leaves stems discarded
  • 1/2 cup Fresh cilantro whole leaves stems discarded
  • 3 tbsp Lemon juice more if needed
  • 3 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil more if needed
  • 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 4 slices Crusty bread drizzled with oil and grilled or toasted

Instructions

  • Mix the lime juice and soy sauce in a large bowl and place the sausage steak inside, coat well season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  •  In a food processor or blender, add the garlic, parsley, cilantro, lemon juice, and oil. Season with salt and red pepper flakes. Pulse until finely chopped. Taste and adjust any of the ingredients as needed. Then set aside.
  • Preheat a grill on medium heat (or cook in the oven on 400 degrees). Cook the sausages to an internal temperature of 155 degrees using a thermometer. Be sure to get nice char marks all over.
  • Allow the sausage to rest for 5 minutes. Serve the chimichurri sauce over top. Serve with bread.
