Grilled Cheeseburger and Onion Rings

Ingredients

For the Onion Rings:

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Black pepper
  • 1 Onion large, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 3 cups Canola oil for frying

For the Cheeseburger:

  • 8 oz Ground beef
  • ½ TBSP Steak seasoning
  • ½ TBSP Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 slices American cheese (or your choice of cheese)
  • Your favorite condiments (mustard, mayo, ketchup)
  • 2 Hamburger buns lightly toasted
  • 4 leaves Butter lettuce
  • 4 slices Tomato
  • 2 slices Red onion sliced thin

For the Cola:

  • 24 oz Coca-Cola or other cola of choice, cold

Instructions

Prep the Onion Rings:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Dip the onion rings into the buttermilk and then coat them with the seasoned flour mixture.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the coated onion rings in batches until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Prep the Cheeseburger:

  • Mix together the ground beef, steak seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into even patties.
  • Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  • Add the patties to the grill and cook on both sides, achieving the desired doneness using a thermometer. When the burger is ¾ of the way cooked to your liking, add the cheese and cook until melted.

Assemble the Burger:

  • Spread your favorite condiments on the inside of the bun.
  • Place the patty on the bun with lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Serve: Enjoy your cheeseburger with onion rings and a cold cola.
