Equipment
- Stand Mixer with dough hook (optional)
Ingredients
- 2 tsp Instant yeast
- 1/2 cup Warm water between 105 and 115 degrees, or more if needed
- 2 cups All-purpose flour plus more if needed and for rolling out
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
- 6 Sun dried tomatoes chopped
- 1/4 cup Red onion sliced very thin
- 2 tsp Fresh rosemary chopped
Instructions
- Whisk together the yeast and water, until the yeast is dissolved.
- Mix together the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl by hand or using an electric mixer.
- Slowly add the yeast-water to the flour while mixing.
- Continue mixing until the dough begins forming into a cohesive, elastic ball. The dough will still be slightly sticky but it still should be manageable with your hands. (You can add additional flour a little at a time as needed if the dough is too sticky, if the dough is too dry drizzle a little olive oil.)
- Lightly dust your hands with flour, knead the dough until smooth (about 7-10 times), and form the dough into a tight round ball. Grease a baking dish with half of the olive oil, place the dough in and rub the rest of the oil onto the dough. Cover with a towel and place it in a warm place. (Do not put it in a place that is hot or it will over-rise.) Allow dough to rise for 30-40 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Once the dough has risen, place the dough into a greased baking dish. Make divots all over with the tips of your fingers to form the dough to fit the baking dish. Drizzle with oil and top with sun dried tomato, onion, rosemary and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake until golden brown and cooked through, about 20-30 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before cutting into portions.
Notes
Pro tip: Use your favorite toppings to bake into the bread or whatever you have thats extra and needs to be used.
