Ingredients

Air Fryer French Fries

  • 2 Russet potatoes about ½ lb per portion
  • 1 TBSP Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Ketchup for serving

Seasoning

  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Bodega Sauce

  • ¼ cup Ketchup
  • 1 TBSP Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Hot sauce (optional)

Chop Cheese

  • 8 oz Ground beef
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Kaiser rolls
  • 4 leaves Romaine lettuce
  • 4 slices Tomato

Sparkling Lemon Water

  • 24 oz Sparkling water cold
  • 1 Lemon sliced
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Prep the Potatoes: Cut the potatoes into ¼-inch thick sticks. Place into a large bowl and cover completely with cold water for 10 minutes (see note). Drain well and pat dry with a towel. While the potatoes are soaking, preheat the air fryer and make the chop cheese.
  • Preheat the airfryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the fries in the air fryer basket and drizzle with oil. Cook for about 20 minutes, shaking or flipping them halfway through, until the fries are crispy and golden. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Prepare Bodega Sauce: In a small bowl, mix ketchup, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and hot sauce (if using). Set aside.
  • Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned. Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Melt Cheese: Place slices of American and cheddar cheese over the cooked ground beef. Let it melt, then mix it into the beef until creamy.
  • Prepare Rolls: Slice the kaiser rolls and toast them in the skillet until golden brown.
  • Assemble Chopped Cheese: Spoon half of the bodega sauce on one slice of each hoagie. Spoon the cheesy ground beef mixture onto the toasted kaiser rolls. Add lettuce and tomato, and drizzle with more bodega sauce if desired. Close the sandwiches.
  • Mix the ingredients together for the sparkling lemon water.
  • Enjoy: Serve the chop cheese with bodega sauce with fries and sparkling lemon water.

Notes

Pro Tip: Soaking the potatoes in cold water removes excess starch so that you get crispier fries.
