Ingredients
- 1/2 pound Ground beef
- 1/2 tbsp Steak seasoning Montreal steak seasoning or equivalent brand
- 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup Gruyere cheese shredded (or your choice of cheese)
- 2 Hamburger buns lightly toasted
- 2 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 cups Lettuce shredded
- 4 slices Tomato
- 2 Pickle spears
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Preheat the oven broiler on low.
- Mix together the ground beef, steak seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Season generously with salt, and form into even patties.
- Once the skillet is hot, cook burgers on both sides getting a nice crusty char to desired doneness (see below) using a thermometer. When the burger is 3/4 of the way cooked to your liking, add the cheese and place under the oven broiler to melt.
- Lightly toast the buns. Spread the ketchup on both halves of the bun or serve on the side. Place the lettuce on the bun followed by the burger and tomato. Serve with pickle or your choice of condiments.
Notes
Steak Internal Temperatures:
- Rare: 115 - 120 degrees F
- Medium Rare: 125 - 130 degrees F
- Medium: 135 - 140 degrees F
- Medium Well: 145 - 150 degrees F
- Well Done: 160 degrees F
