Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tsp Kitchen Bouquet Browning and Seasoning Sauce to taste (substitue 'gravy master' or a comparable brand)
  • 2 sprig Fresh rosemary
  • 1 lb Shaved steak
  • 4 Long rolls
  • 2 oz Potato chips
  • 4 Pickle spears

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook until golden brown. Stir in the broth, kitchen bouquet, and rosemary. Bring to a simmer until the liquid thickens. Taste and season with salt as needed.
  • Stir the beef into the pan, cover with a vented lid, and low simmer for 15 minutes or more to build flavor.
  • Warm the rolls in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove the beef from the pan and portion it onto the rolls. Spoon a small amount of liquid onto the sandwich if desired.
  • Cut in half and serve with chips and pickle.
