Ingredients

Creamy Vanilla Porridge with Brown Sugar Apples

  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • cups Milk
  • ½ cup Heavy cream or half-and-half
  • ½ tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Apple peeled and cut into thin wedges
  • 1 TBSP Brown sugar
  • 1 TBSP Honey

Fruit

  • 2 cups Fresh fruit such as berries, grapes, or citrus, washed and prepared as needed

Coffee

  • Coffee brewed to your liking
  • Your choice of sweetener optional
  • Your choice of creamer optional

Instructions

  • Prepare all ingredients as listed above.
  • Cook porridge: In a medium saucepan over low-medium heat, combine rolled oats, milk, cream, and the vanilla. Stir frequently for 10–15 minutes until oats are tender and the mixture is thick and creamy. Add a little extra milk if needed for desired consistency.
  • Make brown sugar apples: In a separate saucepan, add apple wedges, brown sugar, and honey. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender, golden, and sticky.
  • Brew coffee to your preference. Add sweetener and creamer if desired.
  • Serve the porridge topped with brown sugar apples, alongside fresh fruit and coffee.
