Ingredients
Hibiscus Iced Tea
- 4 cups Water
- 2 Hibiscus tea bags (or 2 tsp of loose hibiscus tea)
- 1-2 TBSP Honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
Sandwich
- 4 slices Your choice of bread lightly toasted
- 2 TBSP Mayonnaise
- 2 TBSP Yellow mustard
- 6 leaves Romaine lettuce cut to fit the bread
- 4 slices Tomato
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 8 oz Deli turkey breast
- 1 Avocado pitted and sliced
- 2 oz Potato chips
- 2 Pickle spears
Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the hibiscus tea bags (or loose hibiscus tea in a tea infuser). Let steep for 5 - 7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Remove the tea bags or infuser. Stir in 1-2 TBSP honey or sugar while the tea is still warm, adjusting to taste. Let chill in the freezer or refrigerator.
- Toast the bread. Spread the mayo and mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer with lettuce, tomato, seasoned with salt and pepper, turkey, and avocado.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled hibiscus tea over the ice.
- Cut the sandwich in half. Serve with chips, pickle, and hibiscus iced tea.
