Ingredients
French Fries
- 2 Potatoes Cut the potatoes into ¼ inch-thick sticks (about ½ lb of potato per portion)
- 2 tsp Vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- ¼ cup Ketchup optional
Double Burger
- 8 oz Ground beef
- 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
For the Sauce
- 2 TBSP Mayonnaise
- 1 TBSP Ketchup
- 2 tsp Relish
- 1/4 tsp White vinegar
- 1/8 tsp Yellow mustard
- pinch Salt
For the Grilled Onions (optional)
- 2 TBSP Butter
- 1 cup Sweet onion diced small
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
For the Burgers
- 2 Hamburger buns
- 1 TBSP Butter softened
- 4 slices American cheese
- 2 leaves Iceberg lettuce
- 2 slices Tomato
Lemon Sparkling Water
- 24 oz Sparkling water
- 1 Lemon sliced
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Prep the ingredients as listed above.
- Prep the Potatoes: Place the potatoes into a large bowl and cover completely with cold water for 10 minutes (see note). Drain well and pat dry with a towel.
- Preheat the airfryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the fries in the air fryer basket and drizzle with oil. Cook for about 20 minutes, shaking or flipping them halfway through, until the fries are crispy and golden. Season with salt to taste.
- Cut four pieces of parchment paper in 4 1/2” squares. Mix the ground beef with kosher salt and pepper and then form into four equal balls; press the balls onto the parchment paper into four thin 4 1/2” patties (they will shrink as they cook) and set aside in the fridge to firm up.
- Mix together the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
- In a large pan over medium heat, melt butter and then add the diced onions; sprinkle with salt and pepper and sauté until tender and deep golden brown (10 - 12 mins); remove from the pan.
- Spread a thin layer of softened butter on the cut side of the burger buns and toast cut side down in the pan over medium heat for 1 - 2 mins until deep golden brown; remove from the pan.
- Add oil to the pan along with the burger patties; sear patties 1 - 2 min on the first side (until browned), flip, and add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty; cook 1 more min then stack patties on top of each other (so that there are two patties and two slices of cheese per burger)
- Mix the ingredients together for the sparkling lemon water.
- Spread the sauce inside the bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, burger patties, and grilled onions; top with the other side of the bun and enjoy the double double with fries, and lemon sparkling water!
