Ingredients

Rooibos Iced Tea

  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 Rooibos tea bags (or 2 tsp loose rooibos tea)
  • 2 TBSP Honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes for serving

Hot Dogs

  • 4 All beef hot dogs
  • 4 Hot dog buns
  • 1 cup Sauerkraut
  • 1/2 cup Yellow onion diced
  • Mustard optional
  • Ketchup optional

Apples and Almond Butter

  • 1 Apple sliced
  • 2 TBSP Almond butter

Instructions

  • Prepare the Rooibos Tea: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the rooibos tea bags (or loose tea). Let steep for 10 minutes. Sweeten with honey or sugar to taste. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice when ready.
  • Cook the Hot Dogs: In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add the hot dogs and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until heated through. Alternatively, grill the hot dogs over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and heated through. Ensure hot dogs reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.
  • Assemble the Hot Dogs: Place each hot dog into a bun. Top with sauerkraut and diced onions. Add mustard and/or ketchup if desired.
  • Prepare the Apples and Almond Butter: Slice the apple and serve with almond butter on the side.
  • Serve the hot dogs alongside the apple slices and almond butter and iced rooibos tea.
