Ingredients

Hibiscus Iced Tea

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 Hibiscus tea bags (or 2 tsp loose hibiscus tea)
  • 2 TBSP Honey or Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes

Sandwich

  • 4 slices Sourdough bread
  • 2 TBSP Mayonnaise
  • 2 TBSP Dijon mustard
  • 4 leaves Romaine lettuce
  • 4 slices Tomato
  • 6 oz Deli ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 Pickle spears

Carrots and Hummus

  • 1 cup Carrots peeled and cut into sticks or baby carrots
  • 1/2 cup Hummus

Instructions

  • Make the tea: Bring the water to a simmer (about 190°F / 88°C), then remove from the heat. Steep the tea bags (or loose tea) in the water for 10 minutes. Sweeten with honey to taste. Refrigerate to cool. Serve over ice.
  • Prepare all ingredients per the instructions above.
  • Optional: Toast the slices of sourdough bread to your liking.
  • Spread mayonnaise and mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, deli ham, and Swiss cheese.
  • Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, mayonnaise side down. Press gently, then cut each sandwich in half.
  • Serve the sandwiches with carrots, hummus, pickle, and hibiscus iced tea.
