Ingredients
Hibiscus Iced Tea
- 4 cups Water
- 2 Hibiscus tea bags (or 2 tsp loose hibiscus tea)
- 2 TBSP Honey or Sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
Sandwich
- 4 slices Sourdough bread
- 2 TBSP Mayonnaise
- 2 TBSP Dijon mustard
- 4 leaves Romaine lettuce
- 4 slices Tomato
- 6 oz Deli ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 Pickle spears
Carrots and Hummus
- 1 cup Carrots peeled and cut into sticks or baby carrots
- 1/2 cup Hummus
Instructions
- Make the tea: Bring the water to a simmer (about 190°F / 88°C), then remove from the heat. Steep the tea bags (or loose tea) in the water for 10 minutes. Sweeten with honey to taste. Refrigerate to cool. Serve over ice.
- Prepare all ingredients per the instructions above.
- Optional: Toast the slices of sourdough bread to your liking.
- Spread mayonnaise and mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, deli ham, and Swiss cheese.
- Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, mayonnaise side down. Press gently, then cut each sandwich in half.
- Serve the sandwiches with carrots, hummus, pickle, and hibiscus iced tea.
