Ingredients
Iced Ginger Tea
- 24 oz Water
- 4 Ginger tea bags cold
- Sugar or honey to taste
- Ice cubes
Bodega Sauce
- ¼ cup Ketchup
- 1 TBSP Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Yellow mustard
- 1/2 tsp Hot sauce (optional)
Chop Cheese
- 8 oz Ground beef
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 slices American cheese
- 2 slices Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup Onions diced
- 2 Kaiser rolls
- 4 leaves Romaine lettuce
- 4 slices Tomato
- 1 cup Carrots peeled and cut into 3 inch-long sticks
- ½ cup Ranch dressing
Instructions
- Bring the water to a simmer then remove from the heat. Steep the tea bags in the water for 10 minutes then refrigerate to cool.
- Prep the ingredients per the instructions above.
- Prepare Bodega Sauce: In a small bowl, mix ketchup, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and hot sauce (if using). Set aside.
- Cook Ground Beef: Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Melt Cheese: Place slices of American and cheddar cheese over the cooked ground beef. Let it melt, then mix it into the beef until creamy.
- Prepare Rolls: Toast the rolls.
- Assemble Chop Cheese: Portion ground beef mixture onto the rolls. Drizsle with sauce. Add lettuce and tomato, and serve with more bodega sauce on the side if desired. Close the sandwiches.
- Pour the tea over ice. Sweeten with sugar or honey optional.
- Enjoy: Serve the chop cheese with carrots, ranch, and iced ginger tea.
