Ingredients

Rooibos Iced Tea

  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 Rooibos tea bags (or 1 tsp of loose rooibos tea per bag)
  • 2 TBSP Honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (for serving)

Hot Dogs

  • 4 All beef hot dogs
  • 4 Hot dog buns
  • 1 cup Sauerkraut
  • 1/2 cup Yellow onion diced
  • Mustard optional
  • Ketchup optional

Apples and Almond Butter

  • 1 Apple sliced
  • 2 TBSP Almond butter

Instructions

  • Prepare the rooibos tea: Bring water to a boil, then remove from heat. Add the rooibos tea bags or loose tea, and let steep for 10 minutes. Sweeten with honey or sugar to taste. Refrigerate until chilled.
  • Cook the hot dogs: In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add the hot dogs and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until heated through. You may also grill or pan-fry them, if preferred. (Ensure hot dogs reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.)
  • Assemble the hot dogs: Place each hot dog in a bun. Top with sauerkraut and onions. Use your favorite condiments optional.
  • Serve with sliced apples and almond butter and iced rooibos tea.
