Ingredients
APPLE FILLING
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 2 Granny Smith Apples peeled and sliced, core removed
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- Pinch Salt
- 1/2 tsp Allspice
- pinch Ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
TOPPING
- 1/3 cup All-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven broiler on low.
- In a nonstick pan on medium low heat add the butter, apples, brown sugar, salt, allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer and cook until the apples start to soften and the liquid is a deep golden brown. Remove from heat and portion into ramekins or keep in the pan.
- Mix the topping ingredients in a bowl until clumps form, like wet sand. Spread over the apples.
- Place underneath the broiler until the topping is a deep golden brown. Remove and set aside to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
