Ingredients

APPLE FILLING

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 2 Granny Smith Apples peeled and sliced, core removed
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Allspice
  • pinch Ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon

TOPPING

  • 1/3 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven broiler on low.
  • In a nonstick pan on medium low heat add the butter, apples, brown sugar, salt, allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer and cook until the apples start to soften and the liquid is a deep golden brown. Remove from heat and portion into ramekins or keep in the pan.
  • Mix the topping ingredients in a bowl until clumps form, like wet sand. Spread over the apples.
  • Place underneath the broiler until the topping is a deep golden brown. Remove and set aside to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
