Ingredients

  • 4 Italian sausage link
  • 1/4 pound Ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup Chicken broth
  • 2 Long rolls cut in half
  • 4 tbsp Mexican cheese blend shredded
  • 2 tsp Red onion diced small

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the sausage on a foil-lined baking sheet. Cook in the oven to an internal temperature of 160°F using a thermometer, turning over once about halfway through cooking.
  • In a sauté pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef while breaking it into smaller pieces with a spatula. Add the chili powder, cumin, paprika, tomato, and broth. Season with salt and pepper, simmer for about 15 minutes while occasionally stirring. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
  • Partially slice the roll halfway thru but not all the way. Scoop out the inside of the bread to create a pocket.
  • Place the sausage on the roll, top with chili, cheese, and onion.
