Ingredients
- 3 cups Vegetable oil
- 2 medium Onion peeled and sliced whole into 1/2 inch rounds
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 Eggs beaten
- 4 tbsp Ketchup
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat until it reaches 375°F.
- Cut the onion into 1/2 inch thick round slices and gently separate them into rings.
- Whisk together the flour, paprika, salt.
- Toss the onions in flour, then dip in the egg, and back into the flour, coating very well.
- Working in small batches, place the onions into the oil and fry until they are a dark golden brown.
- Remove from the oil onto a paper towel-lined plate and immediately season with salt and pepper. Serve with ketchup if desired.
