Ingredients

Creamy Vanilla Porridge with Brown Sugar Apples

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 cups Rolled oats
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 TBSP Unsalted butter
  • 1 medium Apple peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 TBSP Brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon optional

Fruit

  • 1 cup Fresh fruit e.g. berries, banana slices, or orange segments

Coffee

  • Coffee
  • Your choice of creamer
  • Your choice of sweetener

Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients as instructed above.
  • Cook the porridge: In a pot, bring water to a boil. Cook the oats according to the directions on the package. Stir occasionally until creamy. Then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Sauté the apples: While the porridge is cooking, heat butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add diced apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon (if using). Cook until the apples are tender and caramelized.
  • Brew and prepare the coffee to your liking.
  • Serve porridge topped with warm brown sugar apples, fresh fruit and coffee. Enjoy a grounding and nurturing breakfast.
