Prepare the ingredients as instructed above.
Make tea: Bring water to a simmer, then turn off the heat. Add tea bags and steep for 10 minutes. Stir in sugar to taste. Chill in the refrigerator, then pour over ice.
Start sauce: Heat a pot over medium heat. Add olive oil, garlic, and onion. Sauté until softened.
Cook beef: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces. Stir in crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, partially cover, and simmer on low 30–35 minutes.
Cook pasta: Boil spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving pasta water if desired. Add pasta to sauce, mix well, and stir in butter and basil.
Prepare side: Slice tomato and avocado. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic, and season with salt.
Serve: Plate spaghetti with Parmesan, tomato and avocado on the side, and glasses of iced lemongrass tea.
