Ingredients

Ginger Lemongrass Iced Tea

  • 24 oz Water
  • 4 bags Lemongrass ginger tea
  • Sugar to taste
  • Ice cubes

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

  • 2 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic sliced
  • 1/4 cup Onion diced small
  • 8 oz Ground beef
  • 2 cups Crushed tomatoes (preferably San Marzano)
  • 4 oz Spaghetti
  • 2 TBSP Butter
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil chopped
  • 4 tsp Parmesan cheese grated
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Tomato, Avocado, and Garlic

  • 1 Tomato sliced
  • 1 Avocado sliced
  • 1/2 clove Garlic diced
  • 2 TBSP Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients as instructed above.
  • Make tea: Bring water to a simmer, then turn off the heat. Add tea bags and steep for 10 minutes. Stir in sugar to taste. Chill in the refrigerator, then pour over ice.
  • Start sauce: Heat a pot over medium heat. Add olive oil, garlic, and onion. Sauté until softened.
  • Cook beef: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces. Stir in crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, partially cover, and simmer on low 30–35 minutes.
  • Cook pasta: Boil spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving pasta water if desired. Add pasta to sauce, mix well, and stir in butter and basil.
  • Prepare side: Slice tomato and avocado. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic, and season with salt.
  • Serve: Plate spaghetti with Parmesan, tomato and avocado on the side, and glasses of iced lemongrass tea.
