Pickled Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Pickling spice
  • 1.5 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 cups Red cabbage shredded

Instructions

  • Place the vinegar, water, pickling spice, and sugar in a saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Remove from the heat and set aside for 5 minutes.
  • Place the cabbage in a bowl. Pour the liquid in and stir so the cabbage is submerged. Let sit for 25 minutes or until ready to serve. Drain well before serving.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste if needed.
