Pasta Bolognese

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 1/2 cup carrots diced
  • 1/2 cup celery diced
  • 28 oz crushed canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup Red wine (merlot, cabernet sauvignon)
  • 1/2 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1/2 lb pappardelle pasta or other pasta of choice
  • 4 tsp Parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  • Heat a pot on medium high heat. Add the beef and break up into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon. Turn the heat down to medium and add in the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic; saute for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the wine, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and thyme; and bring to a simmer.
  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the directions on the package. When the pasta is finished drain well.
  • Toss the pasta in the sauce and serve. Garnish with grated parmesan cheese.
