Ingredients

French Fries

  • 2 Potatoes Cut the potatoes into ¼ inch-thick sticks (about ½ lb of potato per portion)
  • 2 tsp Vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup Ketchup optional

Seasoning

  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Double Burger

  • 8 oz Ground beef

For the Sauce

  • 2 TBSP Mayonnaise
  • 1 TBSP Ketchup
  • 2 tsp Relish
  • 1/4 tsp White vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp Yellow mustard

For the Grilled Onions (optional)

  • 2 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup Sweet onion diced small

For the Burgers

  • 2 Hamburger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 leaves Iceberg lettuce
  • 2 slices Tomato

Lemon Sparkling Water

  • 24 oz Sparkling water
  • 1 Lemon sliced
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Prep the Potatoes: Place the potatoes into a large bowl and cover completely with cold water for 10 minutes (see note). Drain well and pat dry with a towel.
  • Preheat the airfryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the fries in the air fryer basket and drizzle with oil. Cook for about 20 minutes, shaking or flipping them halfway through, until the fries are crispy and golden. Season with salt to taste.
  • Cut four pieces of parchment paper in 4 1/2” squares. Mix the ground beef with kosher salt and pepper and then form into four equal balls; press the balls onto the parchment paper into four thin 4 1/2” patties (they will shrink as they cook) and set aside in the fridge to firm up.
  • Mix together the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
  • In a large pan over medium heat, add the oil and the diced onions; sprinkle with salt and pepper and sauté until tender and deep golden brown (10 - 12 mins); remove from the pan.
  • Toast the buns.
  • Add the burger patties; sear patties 1 - 2 min on the first side (until browned), flip, and add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty; cook 1 more min then stack patties on top of each other (so that there are two patties and two slices of cheese per burger)
  • Mix the ingredients together for the sparkling lemon water.
  • Spread the sauce inside the bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, burger patties, and grilled onions; top with the other side of the bun and enjoy the double double with fries, and lemon sparkling water!
