Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder or more if needed to taste
  • 6 slices Multigrain bread square slices will work best
  • 2 cups Romaine lettuce cut to fit the bread
  • 12 slices Tomato
  • 8 slices Gruyere cheese
  • 8 oz Deli ham sliced thin
  • 8 Toothpicks
  • 4 Pickle spears

Instructions

  • Whisk together the mayo and garlic powder in a bowl, Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread the mayo on each slice of bread.
  • Medium toast the bread slices.
  • To build the sandwich, lay down one slice of bread and top with lettuce and tomato seasoned with salt and pepper, another slice of bread topped with cheese and ham, and finally a top slice of bread.
  • Cut diagonally from corner to corner to create 4 triangle pieces. Place the toothpicks in to hold each one together. Serve 2 pieces per portion with pickles.
