Ginger Bread Waffles

Ingredients

Waffles

  • 1 1/3 cup All-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tbsp Baking powder
  • 3/4 tbsp Ground ginger
  • 3/4 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 tsp Allspice ground
  • 1/3 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Milk more or less as needed
  • 4 tbsp Butter melted
  • 3/4 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 2 3/4 tbsp Molasses

Frosting

  • 2 tbsp Whipped cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp Milk

Other

  • 8 oz Chicken sausage links
  • 2 Banana sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat a waffle maker according to its instructions.
  • For the chicken sausage: If raw, cook in a 400°F oven to an internal temperature of 160°F using a thermometer. 
    If already cooked: Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat and brown the chicken sausage slices on each side. 
  • In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the waffles. Slowly add the milk a little at a time until a smooth batter forms; use milk as needed (more or less).
  • Add the batter to the waffle maker and cook according to the waffle maker instructions.
  • In the meantime, in a bowl, whisk the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk together until smooth then set aside.
  • Drizzle the cream cheese syrup over the waffle, serve with chicken sausage and banana.
