In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add the broccoli and boil just until bright green, about 4 minutes. Drain well.
Heat a nonstick pan over medium high heat. Add the olive oil and garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the broccoli, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, toss occasionally, until tender, about 3 minutes, sprinkle parmesan cheese over top and serve.
