French Toast Sticks
- 5 slices Texas toast Cut into 1-inch wide sticks. (substitute any thick-cut bread of your choice)
- 2 Eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 TBSP Brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 4 TBSP Maple syrup or more if desired
- 2 TBSP Butter as needed
- 2 tsp Powdered sugar
Prep the bread per the instructions above.
In a shallow bowl, beat the egg with a whisk or fork. Then add in the milk, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon, and beat again.
Warm the syrup in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
Set a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
Dip the bread in the egg mixture, turning to coat all sides evenly until the sticks are moistened but not soggy.
Lightly grease the non-stick pan or griddle with butter as needed. Cook the coated bread until golden brown on all sides.
To serve: Dust the French toast with powdered sugar. Serve with warm syrup and milk.
