Equipment

  • potato ricer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups Beef broth
  • 1 sprigs Fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Kitchen Bouquet Browning and Seasoning Sauce substitute granulated brown gravy powder mix to tatse
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch dissolved in an equal amount of water
  • 3 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 lb Ground beef
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp Steak seasoning use your favorite seasoning
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 1/2 cup Seasoned Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp Fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, bring the broth, thyme, and kitchen bouquet to a low simmer. Continue to simmer to build flavor. Adjust any of the ingredients to taste as needed. Pour the cornstarch mixture a little at a time into the simmering broth until it thickens into a gravy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Heat the oil in a skillet or sauté pan on medium heat. In a bowl mix together the meat, Worcestershire sauce, and steak seasoning. Then form into equal patties, dip into the egg, then coat well with breadcrumbs, pressing them in with your hands. Once the oil is hot, fry the patties on both sides deep golden brown, to the internal temperature of your choice (see below). Remove from the oil to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease and season with salt to taste.
  • Spoon the gravy over top. Garnish with parsley.
