Cordon Bleu Sliders

Ingredients

  • 12 Slider buns
  • 2 large Chicken breast boneless skinless butterflied and pounded
  • 1 cup Seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Canola oil
  • 4 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 4 slices Deli black forrest ham
  • 1/3 cup Gruyere cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Slice the slider buns in half creating a top sheet and bottom sheet (if applicable). Try not to separate the buns from one another.
  • Preheat the oven broiler on low.
  • Season the chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. Coat the chicken well with breadcrumbs, using your hands to pack the breadcrumbs on.
  • Heat the oil a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken on both sides golden brown to an internal temperature of 160 degrees using a thermometer. Set aside on paper towels to drain any excess grease.
  • Toast the buns golden brown under the broiler. Then spread mustard on both halves.
  • Overlap the chicken on a baking sheet and top with ham and cheese. Place under the broiler until the cheese is melted.
  • Place the chicken on the slider buns. Cut into portions before serving.

Notes

Pro tips: Butterfly the chicken: Lay the breasts down on a cutting board, using a sharp knife parallel to the cutting board slice the breasts through the middle (carefully) all the way in half. Then cover with plastic wrap and gently pound the chicken to an even thickness using a mallet or rolling pin.
