1/4onionpeeled and sliced
4ozMushroomssliced
1/2bell pepperseeded and sliced into strips
4tspSteak sauceA-1 or comparable brand
Instructions
Heat half of the olive oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add the chicken, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook the chicken for about 6 - 8 minutes until the pieces are no longer pink inside. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
Add the remaining olive oil to the pan over high heat. Add in the onions, mushrooms, and peppers and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until vegetables are soft. Then add the chicken back into the pan and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
Spread the steak sauce on the pita. Layer the pita with cheddar and the chicken, onions, mushrooms, and peppers mixture. Fold in half and serve.
