Carolina Burger

Ingredients

Burgers

  • 8 oz Ground beef Black Angus beef recommended
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 TBSP Carolina BBQ sauce for the burger mix
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese for melting on the burgers
  • 2 Hamburger buns
  • 1 cup Romaine lettuce

Carrots and Hummus

  • ½ cup Carrots peeled and cut into sticks (or use baby carrots)
  • 1/2 cup Hummus

Mango Lassi

  • cups Frozen mango chopped
  • 1/4 cup Plain yogurt
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 1 TBSP Sugar to taste
  • ¼ tsp Ground cardamom

Instructions

  • Prep all ingredients as described in the ingredient list.
  • Make the Burgers: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, BBQ Sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until fully combined. Form the mixture into burger patties.
  • Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties on both sides to your desired doneness. Melt the cheddar cheese on top during the last minute of cooking.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a pan until golden brown.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing romaine lettuce and a burger patty on the bottom bun. Drizzle additional BBQ sauce on top, then cover with the top half of the bun.
  • Make the Mango Lassi: In a blender, combine the frozen chopped mango, plain yogurt, milk, cardamom powder, and sugar. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Serve the burgers with carrot, hummus, and mango lassi.
