In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Smash in the butter with a fork.
Mix in the buttermilk a little at a time; stir using a rubber spatula just until a moist and sticky dough forms.
Portion the dough evenly and lightly dust each with flour, then form into a round shape onto the prepared baking sheet. Place into oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked in the center and golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
