Preheat the oven broiler on low.
Mix the oil, breadcrumbs, and parmesan, season with salt and pepper to taste.
Pack the breadcrumbs on top of the artichoke halves and toast them under the oven broiler until the breadcrumbs are deep golden brown, about 6 - 8 minutes.
